WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - UCLA's Riza Zalameda has been named Pac-10 Women's Tennis Player of the Week for April 22-28, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.
Zalameda, took home her first Pac-10 Individual crown as she downed USC's Amanda Fink in the finals, rallying from a 1-3 second set deficit to win five out of the last six games and take the match 6-3, 6-4. The win was especially gratifying for the Bruin senior, who had lost to Fink less than 10 days ago in UCLA's 5-2 dual-match victory over the Women of Troy.
This is the fifth Pac-10 Player of the Week award for for Zalameda, the most for any player since the award began.
